Veteran musician, guitarist, composer and arranger, Ebo Taylor, has commended Bisa Kdei for being the only artiste doing original Ghanaian Highlife music.
Ebo Taylor confessed to having enjoyed Bisa Kdei’s song the very first time he heard it. “I simply loved it because of how he sang it.”
“I listened to it quietly and asked myself who is this person. Honestly, he sounded very original like a professional Highlife artiste,” he said.
in an interview with Mercy Bee, producer of Happy 98.9FM’s Ayekoo After Drive Show, Ebo Tylar said, “Listening to him gave me hope that Highlife is not dead. When you listen to him carefully, you’ll realize that he’s doing typical Ghanaian highlife. With Bisa Kdei and a few others still in the industry, I have hope Ghanaian Highlife music won’t die.”
He added “I wouldn’t mind meeting him and doing a song with him because I really like him”.
He explained that there was a significant difference between Afrobeat and Highlife. “You can hear a little bit of Afrobeat in Highlife but not a lot of artistes know this. So far, I’ve heard only Bisa Kdei sing like this”.
