Black Queens lands in Ivory Coast ahead of WAFU tournament

The Black Queens of Ghana have landed safely at the Hoephet Boanye Airport in Abidjan for the 2019 edition of WAFU Zone B Cup .

The team is currently lodging at the Grand Hotel,Abidjan.

They had a little shake up this evening at the Stade Robert Champroux.

Ghana won the trophy in its maiden edition, defeating hosts Cote d’Ivoire 1-0 in 2018.
The senior women team’s campaign opens on Wednesday against Senegal in Group A, before playing Togo on May 10 and hosts Cote d’Ivoire three days later.

The likes of Fafali Dumehasi, Janet Egyir, Ellen Coleman, Gladays Amfobea, Juliet Acheampong, Grace Asantewaa, Mavis Owusu, Jane Ayieyam, Alice Kusi and Rita Okyere were part of the team that won the maiden tournament last year.

Group B includes Nigeria, Burkina Faso and Niger.
