Black Stars duo Kamaldeen Sulemana and Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer have withdrawn from the Black Meteors squad for the upcoming 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) according to unconfirmed reports.

The pair were due to join the rest of the U-23 squad, which is presently in Cairo preparing for the event, which will be held in Morocco later this month.

Sulemana and Yeboah Königsdörffer were named in the Black Stars squad for the matchday five games against Madagascar in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Sunday, a game that ended goalless.

However, the two players will not be participating in the tournament with the Black Meteors, but Ernest Nuamah, who made his Black Stars debut on Sunday, will join the team on Wednesday in Rabat.

It is reported that Nuamah, who played all the qualifying games convinced his club, FC Nordsjaelland to allow him to play the tournament.

Meanwhile, the Black Meteors will play their final preparatory game against Egyptian side, Zamalek later today.
The team will then depart Cairo on Wednesday for Rabat for the tournament.

In Group A, host Morocco is housed with Ghana, Congo and Guinea. Group B features holders Egypt, Mali, Gabon and Niger in what promises to be a high-flying show.

The U23 Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2023 will take place between 24 June to 08 July 2023 in the cities of Rabat and Tangier.
