A London-bound plane has crashed shortly after take-off in Ahmedabad, western part of India – Bujurat at Ahmedebad with over 240 people onboard the aircraft.
Reports indicate that the India Airline Boeing – Dreamliner plane crashed in a civilian area, in less than a minute after take off at a 120 metres and 625 feet of the ground bound for London Gatwick.
Chief Director of Civil Aviation confirmed to the BBC that there were 232 passengers on board, with 12 crew at their designated posts before takeoff. He added that the flight was scheduled to touchdown in Gatwick at 18:25BST.
Tracking website Flightradar24 says it received the last signal from the aircraft at 625 feet (190m) “just seconds after take off”
The Chairman of the Airline Air India said to London that they are providing all of the necessary support to aid all affected persons.
The state of the passengers onboard are yet to be confirmed. However, firefighters are present at the scene to ensure no combustible object lights up the area in flames.
