Northern Regional Chairman of Asante Kotoko supporters, Anthony Kofi Nti, has added his voice to calls for coach Maxwell Konadu to be brought back to Asante Kotoko FC.

The elimination of Asante Kotoko from the on-going CAF Confederation cup campaign has seen a section of the rank and file of the club asking for a beef up of the technical team.

Speaking on Happy FM’s ‘Anopa Bosuo Sports‘, Kofi Nti said the club needs to maintain C.K. Akonnor as the coach but Maxwell Konadu must be brought back to help him, adding that the current assistant coach, Akakpo Patron, is relegated to the junior team of the club.

“I do not see any problem with the coach. The issue is that we lack quality players. Bringing in an expatriate won’t help. I heard Maxwell Konadu has been reassigned. We can bring him back to help C.K. while Akakpo Patron is sent to the Junior team to help with scouting and recruitments,” he said.

Asante Kotoko’s hopes of making the quarter finals of this years CAF Confederation cup was dashed over the weekend when they lost 2-1 to Zesco Utd.

Al-Hilal of Sudan topped ground C with 11 points and were followed by Nkana FC with 9 points.
