Former Ghanaian boxer, Brimah Kamoko popularly known as Bukom Banku has initiated a takeover to manage the Astroturf pitch in Bukom.

Bukom Banku without any authorization has taken over the management of the facility from the management committee put together by the previous government in 2024.

The retired boxer after taking over the facility told residents who are against his decision to report him to the president because he is acting in the interests of the community.

“I’m from Bukom, and no one can bully me because of the astroturf. I’m the caretaker. If you like, go and tell President John Mahama, the Vice President, or the MP. They pay directly to me because I’m the caretaker,” he said.

He added that the money he will generate from the use of the facility will be used to in maintaining it.

“I use the money to maintain the turf because it belongs to the community. It is a community park, so someone must be in charge—but not just anybody.”
