Asante Kotoko have been eliminated from the CAF Confederation Cup after losing 2-1 on aggregate to Ivorian side San Pedro on Sunday.

The Porcupine Warriors head into the game with a 1-0 advantage in the first leg played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Coach Kjetil Zacharriasson named a defensive starting lineup with Emmanuel Gyamfi and Songne Yacouba benched, where he was hoping to protect his 1-0 lead.

Chieck Soumaro gave the hosts the lead in the opening minute to see them tie on aggregate.

The first half ended with Asante Kotoko failing to make any attempt at getting an equalizer.

The second half started with much intense from both sides with Kotoko hoping to level it up.

San Pedro got the needed match winner in the dying minutes of the game to book a place in the Group stage of the 2019/20 CAF Confederation Cup.

Asante Kotoko ended the game with 10-men after Emmanuel Agyeman Badu was sent off for accumulating two yellow cards.
