Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has declared his intention to contest for the position of National Chairman of the party.
In a viral video circulating online, Chairman Wontumi is seen announcing his ambition, which he says is divinely inspired. “I have spoken to God, and the favor I have found before Him and the favor He has caused me to find before men will be a pivotal factor of my victory as National Chairman when the time comes,” he said.
Chairman Wontumi emphasized that his decision to contest is in the best interest of the NPP. He expressed confidence that his leadership will help the party regain power in 2028.
“When the time comes, I will also go and pick forms and apply as a contestant for the position of National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party. And with all due respect, I will bring my contributions and experience to facelift the NPP and bring us victory in 2028,” he stated.
