Even before the National Response Team on COVID-19 accounts for the money they have collected from well-meaning Ghanaians by way of donations, the main opposition, National Democratic Congress (NDC) has accounted for the money contained in the fund.

According to Chief Biney, the Deputy National Organizer of the party, per the party’s calculation the team headed by the former Chief Justice, Sophia Akufo, has collected a whopping Thirty-Four million Ghana Cedis.

He said the party is carefully monitoring the donations being made to the fund by well-meaning people across the country.

The Deputy National Organizer gave out this calculation on ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show with Kwame Afrifa-Mensah on Happy 98.9FM.

He said the NDC is not going to let its guards lose on monitoring the funds that are presented to the government under the COVID-19 response.

“We have kept our eyes wide open to ensure that the money accrued from the donations are used for the intended purpose of saving the lives of the ordinary Ghanaians” he said.

He minces no words to say the party is equally monitoring the One billion dollar loan facility from the International Monetary Fund(IMF).

He added that the NDC will continue to ensure the money is used for its intended purposes and not diverted into a secret account for oiling the campaign of the re-election of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
