European Union representative, Silvia Tizzi has indicated that the youth have a very important role to play in maintaining peace and stability throughout the election year.

The Program Officer of the European Delegation to Ghana – in charge of youth was engaged by the media at Civic Fest 2024, organized earlier today, Saturday, August, by the National Commission for Civic Education to enlighten youth on the importance of peaceful elections through a variety of fun activities.

She described the event which raked in a great number of young people from various senior high schools in Accra, as a testament of the joint efforts of the EU and the NCCE to engage in youth promoting democracy and standing against corrupt acts. “The youth are
not only beneficiaries of policies, they play a very important role in maintaining the nation’s peace especially during the election.”

Civic Fest 2024, which was themed ‘Together We Can Build Ghana, So Get Involved,’ centers around four thematic areas: Religious Tolerance, Misinformation, Disinformation and Fake News, Money in Politics, and Violence.
