Coronavirus kills Congo's ex-president

Jacques Joaquim Yhombi-Opango, former president of the Republic of Congo who went into exile in France in 1997 has reportedly died of Coronavirus in Paris.

His family confirmed the news saying that he was already ill before contracting the disease.

He was 81 years old.

The global number of coronavirus has now escalated to almost 800,000 with almost 40,000 deaths.
