Investigative Journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ lawsuit for 25 million in defamation against Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has been dismissed by an Accra High Court.

Anas Aremeyaw Anas failed to prove that Ken Agyapong slandered him by screening the documentary “Who watches the watchman,”.

The court ruled that what Anas engages in is not investigative journalism but rather investigative terrorism and that Mr. Agyapong was justified to term Anas “a blackmailer, corrupt, an extortionist, and vile”.
Kennedy Agyapong reacting to the verdict stated, “our nation needs to move on from this style of journalism and pull him down syndrome and rather focus on building strong institutions that will help instil accountability, discipline and purpose of duty in the attainment of personal and national goals. Today’s ruling has shown that we must not be shy in challenging those who seek to destroy others for self-serving purposes while upholding the moral fabric of our nation.

In 2018, Anas, sued the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for allegedly defaming him.
