“I thought it’s important personally to come and sit with our customers and shareholders so that they see me in flesh, so I can communicate properly to dispell any fears or to answer a lot of questions that they have. This is bigger than Databank. I’m doing it for mother Ghana because people have questions that they are not getting answers to. Databank’s mantra is leadership, so I decided I will take a leadership role in this by subjecting myself to questions from our clients,” Mr. Addae-Mensah said.

Mr. Addae-Mensah also asserted that the Investment Banking sector is one of the main areas which helps to develop an economy. “It is the investment banking world that developed America, so for Ghana to develop and grow, we need investment banking to be vibrant.”

The programme saw participants across the country asking the CEO question in areas of Banking reforms and the impact of the nvestment industry, Outlook of Ghana’s stock market for 2019 and questions to ask before you invest.

He however advised Ghanaians to ask questions before investing their money into any financial institution.

“My advice to Ghanaians is that before you invest money somewhere, you have to have ask questions: Who is running this firm, what is their background, what is their experience, what have they done before and more importantly where are they placing the money,” he added.

Attendees of the programme were elated as most of the questions on their minds with regards to the financial sector was answered by the CEO. On his part, host of Citi FM’s Morning Show Bernard Avle who was the moderator of the programme commended Databank and its group CEO for this initiative.

Founded in April 1990, Databank seeks to empower its customers to achieve financial independence by providing financial education and offering a diverse range of investment products.

Investors can access fixed-income investments (including treasury bills), trade shares listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange and enjoy corporate governance advisory services through our brokerage wing.
