Disgruntled referees chief threatens to boycott league over 'bias' Sharks-Medeama replay ruling

Retired referee Joe Debrah has sent a warning signal that referees in the country will boycott the Zylofon Cash Premier League over ‘bias’ ruling from the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football in the match involving Elmina Sharks and Medeama SC.
The Week 8 match at the Ndoum Stadium between Elmina Sharks and Medeama SC ended abruptly due to the severity of the injuries sustained by the referee Nuhu Liman as a result of violence.
The alleged assault, the second on the referee this season, happened midway through the game as the visitors refused to continue with the game.
However, the Ghana Football Associations’Disciplinary Committee (DC) has ruled that the game between Elmina Sharks and Medeama SC be replayed at a neutral venue.
In an interview with Ohene Bampoe–Brenya on Happy FM‘s Anopa Bosuo Sports, Joe Debrah expressed his disappointment in the ruling and insisted that they ready to lay down their flags for the FA to over the remaining games in the campaign.
“The ruling on Sharks and Medeama case is bias. Injustice at its peak,” Debrah told Happy FM.
“This ruling is bogus. Those at The Disciplinary committee are behaving like they don’t know anything about football. Common sense should tell them that the referee was clearly injured.”
“If the GFA has the power to sanction then the referees also have the power to boycott. Those at the disciplinary committee are useless, including those referees there.”
“We are giving them few days to correct things else they will officiate their own matches.”
“The end for Ghana football is near .If we don’t hear from them before Tuesday, GFA should go ahead and declare the league for this season because we won’t officiate
“I have been yearning and calling for Anas to investigate referees. We have to remove the bad officials from the system. They are tarnishing the image of referees in Ghana”
“How can they say that the referee doesn’t have the right to call the end of the match? The referees did nothing wrong by ending the match,” he concluded.
