This marks a 19.49% increase compared to last year,” he stated. According to John Kapi, the provisional results for school candidates were released earlier on August 23, with 603,328 students participating from 20,395 schools. Public Relations officer for Asante Kotoko,Kennedy Boakye Ansah has urged the media and the public to desist from comparing their current coach, Kjetil Zachariassen to their former coach CK Akunnor who took them to the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup Competition in the 2018/2019 season.

Kotoko suffered elimination from the Group stage of the CAF Champions League after a 3-0 defeat a ten-man Etoile du Sahel side yesterday in Monastir. The Porcupine Warriors got evicted from the continent’s flagship inter-clubs competition after a aggregate 3-2 defeat to the Tunisians

Speaking to Ohene Bampoe-Brenya on Happy FM’s Anopa Bosuo Sports, the Porcupine Warriors PRO pleaded

“CK Akunnor is not the head coach of KOTOKO anymore .He is history so we should not start the CK argument now because it won’t wash. Let us accept the fact Kjetil is the new coach . Both coaches have won games and lost games.”

“It was not a bad decision to appoint Kjetil Zachariassen to replace CK Akunnor. This is not time for us to crucify the coach or the players. CK was promoted to a new position and he refused to accept so he left. CK Akunnor wasn’t sack.”

“As a team, KOTOKO lost yesterday so we shouldn’t start comparing CK and Kjetil Zachariassen because it will break the team up . Let’s leave both coaches to do their jobs.”

Management of Asante Kotoko ,appointed Kjetil Zachariassen as their substantive head coach to replace Coach Charles Kwablah Akonnor early this year in July.
