The Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe and former Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has announced plans to launch a new educational initiative aimed at transforming the education sector across several African countries.
In an exclusive interview on Happy 98.9 FM’s Epa Hoa Daben show with Bismark Brown, Dr. Adutwum shared details about the upcoming initiative, dubbed Yaw Osei Adutwum (YOA) Global Education Partners.
This program, he explained, is designed to offer support to African nations seeking to improve their education systems through collaboration and shared expertise.
Dr. Adutwum noted that during his time as Education Minister, Ghana made significant strides in education, setting a benchmark that has drawn the attention of other African nations. He revealed that countries such as Liberia and Sierra Leone have already reached out for assistance in reforming their education sectors.
He clarified that the YOA Global Education Partners initiative is a private, non-governmental effort, launched in collaboration with his partners in the United States.
The goal is to offer technical support and strategic guidance, particularly in areas such as Free Senior High School education and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) programs.
According to Dr. Adutwum, just before leaving office, the Ministers of Education from Liberia and Tanzania engaged him for advice and expertise on how to implement similar reforms in their countries.
He emphasized his commitment to using his experience and global partnerships to support educational development across the continent.
