Former Kade MP and campaign manager for Kwabena Agyapong, Ofosu Asamoah, has publicly endorsed Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for the NPP presidential primaries.
Asamoah cited confidence in Bawumia’s ability to lead the party to victory in 2028 as reason for his switch.
This endorsement provides Bawumia with valuable organizational structure and local influence, particularly in the Eastern Region.
Bawumia is currently leading in the polls with 57% of delegate support, according to a Global InfoAnalytics survey.
The NPP presidential primary is scheduled for January 31, 2026, and Bawumia’s campaign is gaining momentum, with 63 out of 87 NPP MPs expressing support for him.
