Spokesperson for NPP Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Fiifi Boafo has made a bold statement, claiming Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the most effective Vice President in Ghana’s history. According to Fiifi Boafo, the upcoming December polls will see a multitude of candidates, but the spotlight is on Dr. Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, and John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer.
Fiifi Boafo emphasized that when comparing the two, Dr. Bawumia’s performance as Vice President surpasses that of Mr. Mahama. He notes that while Mr. Mahama has held various positions, Deputy Minister, Minister, Member of Parliament, Vice President, and President, Dr. Bawumia’s tenure as Deputy Governor at Bank of Ghana and Vice President is more impressive.
He mentioned that he cannot recall a single initiative implemented by Mr. Mahama as Vice President, whereas Dr. Bawumia can boast of 31 impactful ideas shared in the Nana Addo-led government. This, Boafo asserts, solidifies Dr. Bawumia’s position as the best and most effective Vice President Ghana has seen.
