Former Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has expressed his deep sorrow following the reported death of celebrated highlife musician, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba.
In a message posted on his official Facebook page, Dr. Bawumia described Daddy Lumba as “a true music icon” whose career spanned over three decades, leaving an indelible mark on the Ghanaian music scene.
Dr. Bawumia praised Lumba’s exceptional musical talent and his role in shaping Ghana’s entertainment landscape.
“His brilliant compositions and works have not only entertained but also inspired and uplifted many of us. His passing is indeed a huge blow, not only to the music fraternity but to the entire country,” he noted.
He extended condolences to the bereaved family and the nation: “Samira and I extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife, family, fans, and the whole country. LEGEND, REST WELL.”
