Former National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, has endorsed the John and Jane ticket as the ideal pair to rescue Ghanaians from the current economic quagmire. Addressing NDC supporters in the Tema East constituency during Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang’s campaign tour in the Greater Accra Region, Dr. Ofosu Ampofo praised the ticket as the best suited to secure Ghana’s future.

He lauded Prof. Opoku-Agyemang as a trailblazing scholar who shattered the glass ceiling to become the first female Vice Chancellor of a public university in Ghana. As Education Minister, she introduced groundbreaking initiatives such as technical universities and progressively free education in Senior High Schools. Dr. Ofosu Ampofo emphasized that her nomination as running mate by President John Dramani Mahama is a testament to the ticket’s exceptional capacity to provide relief in these economically challenging times.

Dr. Ofosu Ampofo also criticized the NPP for deceiving Ghanaians in 2016 with promises of economic salvation through Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, touted as an economic whizkid. However, he noted that Dr. Bawumia’s tenure has been marked by the highest Cedi-Dollar ratio in Ghana’s history and widespread business collapses, including banks. Dr. Ofosu Ampofo urged voters to reject Dr. Bawumia in the upcoming elections, emphasizing that he has nothing new to offer.

In contrast, Dr. Ofosu Ampofo expressed confidence in the John and Jane ticket, highlighting their experience and capability to manage the country’s affairs effectively. He urged voters to massively support the NDC’s presidential ticket.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang outlined the NDC’s comprehensive policy agenda, including the 24-Hour Economy policy, National Apprenticeship program, Women Development Bank, and the Big Push, designed to alleviate the hardships faced by Ghanaians.

She encouraged all registered voters to participate in the ongoing voter exhibition exercise and vote overwhelmingly for Mr. John Dramani Mahama and NDC parliamentary candidates in the December 7 general elections.
