The Member of Parliament for Klottey Korle, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, has disclosed that steps are being taken to address concerns over the alleged sale and misuse of government lands in the CMB/Railways enclave.
According to her, following her recent press briefing on behalf of informal traders at CMB Abuja Market and the GPRTU operators, she, together with the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Korle Klottey, Mr. Alfred Allotey Gaisie, was invited by the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Railway Development Authority (GRDA), Mr. Frederick Appoh, to deliberate on the matter.
Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings revealed that the GRDA boss assured her that, as part of the government’s resetting agenda, only two leases have so far been issued for the referenced lands in the CMB area.
“In the coming days, a broader stakeholder engagement will be convened to ensure that all parties are updated and aligned on the way forward,” she stated.
She further called for calm, urging the public to stay tuned as efforts continue to ensure a transparent and fair resolution.
“An amicable solution shall be found in the interest of transparency and the collective good. I remain committed to working with all relevant authorities and stakeholders to see this matter resolved fairly and sustainably,” she assured.
