The Ghana Police Service has addressed Yvonne Nelson’s request towards a second power outage demonstration.

A statement issued by the Ghana Police Service addressed the notice of intention letter written by conveners of the demonstration(Yvonne Nelson, Selorm Dramani Dramado, Henry Osei Akoto) to exercise constitutional rights under ARTICLE 21 (1) (D) AND (F) OF THE 1992 CONSTITUTION on Thursday, May 9, 2024 to the Inspector General of Police.

The statement indicates that the matter was duly handed over to the Deputy Commissioner and Regional Commander of Police, Arhin Kwasi Annor to carry out the necessary proceedings towards granting the earlier made request.

Yvonne Nelson along with fellow conveners are hereby invited to meet with the Regional Commander of Police on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 to discuss the modalities of the desired demonstration against power outages in Ghana. “In view of the above, the Regional Commander invites you (conveners) to a meeting in his office on Wednesday 15/05/2024 at 1400 hours to discuss modalities pertaining to your intended demonstration.” the statement indicated.
