Easing of restrictions will be strategic, controlled, progressive and safe – Nana Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has eased some restrictions such as the ban on social gathering even though the borders of Ghana remain closed.

He made these announcements in his tenth address to the nation on the measures to fight Coronavirus.

He stated that the easing of restrictions was made in consultation with stakeholders and based on data.

He,however, noted that the easing of restrictions were to be “strategic, controlled, progressive and safe”.

He said : “A consensus has emerged from this consultation that we should embark on a strategic, controlled, progressive, safe easing of restrictions to get our lives and economy back to normal”.

He noted that he was aware of the devastating effect of these restrictions on the lives of Ghanaians and as such we could not live under these restrictions forever.

“I know, however, that we cannot leave with this forever. And that it is imperative that we find a safe way to return our lives to normality as other nations across the globe are trying to do”, he added.
