The Electoral Commission has announced plans to reprint all distributed ballot papers to the Ahafo and Volta Regions due to incorrect serial numbers.

“The commission has taken a decision to recall the Ballot Papers for Ahafo and the Volta regions”.

According to the commission, its decision to reprint the presidential and parliamentary ballots papers for the Volta and Ahafo regions were due to incorrect serial numbers.

“While the printing of the Ballot Papers has gone down very well, the challenges faced by the commission has been the serialisation of the numbers on the Ballot Papers”.

The Commission has however decided that the two ballots will now be printed by Bulk and Acts Commercials.

Speaking during an emergency Inter- Party Advisory Committee ( IPAC) meeting on Friday November 15, 2024, the deputy chairman in charge of operations at the Electoral Commission, Samuel Tettey noted that, these concerns were raised few weeks ago, hence the need to correct all errors as the serialisation errors has affected the integrity of the ballots. “Over the last few weeks some concerns have been raised with the serialisation of the Ballot papers for Ahafo and Volta Regions”.

He added that, “the commission has seriously taken action to cure the defects and has deployed teams to the printing house to correct the anomalies”.
