The Ministry of Education has appealed to the public to support security agencies in locating a teacher of Bole Senior High School who is alleged to have gone into hiding after a viral video surfaced showing him engaged in sexual misconduct with a student on the school’s premises.
Speaking in an interview monitored by happyghana.com on Wednesday, June 24, Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Clement Apaak, said the Ministry is treating the matter with urgency and has activated processes to ensure that the teacher is brought to face the law.
According to him, the teacher is currently on the run, with security agencies working to locate and arrest him.
“Our checks indicate that the teacher has gone into hiding. We know that law enforcement is also playing its part, and he is being sought after. If Ghanaians can assist law enforcement to apprehend him, it would be very helpful,” Dr. Apaak said.
He added that the teacher, if found, will face both legal action and the full disciplinary procedures of the Ghana Education Service (GES).
The Ministry of Education and the GES have assured the public that investigations are ongoing and appropriate action will be taken after the facts of the case are established.
The teacher has since been interdicted by the GES as investigations into the incident continue.
