Information reaching GMABC election camp (Happy FM, e.TV Ghana, YFM) indicates that some voters who have recorded a low temperature have been asked to wait to record a normal temperature before proceeding to vote.

At the Methodist Girls’ Polling Centre B (3) in the Ablekuma South constituency, a voter who was identified as Fred Nana Andoh was asked to wait for a while because his body temperature was too low.

“I was the first person in the queue but after they checked my temperature, I was told to wait for a while because my temperature was 35 degrees Celsius”.

Election COVID-19 ambassador at the polling station, Osei Felix, speaking to GMABC’s Bridget Mensah noted that until Fred’s temperature falls within 35.8 to 36.9 he will not be able to vote.

“For those whose temperature level is not the normal, we will refer them to the nearest health Centre. But if the person is able to record a normal temperature after moving about for a while, we can allow him or her to vote”, he stated.

Meanwhile, Fred, speaking to Happy FM, stated that he has walked around for about 20 minutes to get to the required temperature and as such he is hopeful that he will be allowed to vote.
