Election 2024: We are rebranding to save Ghana – UPP’s Odike

The Founder of the United Progressive Party (UPP), Akwasi Addai Odike popularly known as Odike says his party is rebranding to make it more attractive to Ghanaians.

He has revealed that in addition to the rebranding, the party is looking to find one who will save Ghana from the hardships it is experiencing now.

He made this known in an interview with Happy FM’s Don Prah on the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show.

“We are on a branding stage looking for the one to save Ghana. We are crisscrossing the whole country to tell Ghanaians how we will save Ghana from the hardships. Ghanaians have become too pitiful”, he said.

Odike called on all Ghanaians and #FixTheCountry campaigners to consult the United Progressive Party (UPP) on “strategies for fixing Ghana”. He further assured that UPP will challenge the status quo and create a model for others to follow.

Akwasi Addai Odike contested the 2012 presidential elections as candidate for the United Front Party but following a series of disagreements with the national executive led by Nana Agyenim Boateng (Gyataba) as chairman, he left the UFP to form the UPP in 2015.

In 2016, he withdrew his nomination for the December 7 presidential elections for “personal reasons”.

That was barely 24 hours after he had re-submitted his nomination forms to the Electoral Commission (EC) and a few hours before the announcement of political parties that are qualified to contest the presidential election.

Odike, however, hopes to win the 2024 election and reign as President of Ghana so he can amend some portions of the constitution to allow for clear separation of power.
