Member of Parliament for the South Dayi Constituency, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor has said that the Electoral Commission is more partisan that the political parties who participated in the just ended 2024 elections.

According to him the EC was supposed to conduct the elections in accordance with the law but the EC went about their business with their biases which are mainly motivated by political interest.

Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor’s comment comes on the back of the EC’s statement that the officer who declared NDC’s Ebi Bright as the Member of Parliament elect for the Tema Central Constituency did so under duress.

“The Electoral Commission is more partisan than political parties that participated in the elections and this is why I’m saying that. The EC is supposed to organize the elections according to the law and all the procedures are stated clearly.”

“You (EC) recruit people, you don’t train them well enough and they then decide to use their subjective ideas to conduct a public election that is supposed to be free and fair and they do this with their biases and some of these biases are mainly political.”

Meanwhile Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor has been re-elected to represent the people of South Dayi in Ghana’s 9th Parliament.
