Business man and billionaire, Elon Musk has announced the formation of a new political group called the America Party, positioning it as a bold alternative to the entrenched Republican and Democratic parties.
The declaration, made via his platform X (formerly Twitter), comes just weeks after a dramatic fallout with former US President Donald Trump — a feud that saw Musk exit his advisory role and initiating an ongoing online brawl with his once-ally.
“In a two-to-one vote, you said you wanted a new political party. You shall have it!” Musk declared on Saturday, referencing an earlier online poll he posted during the height of his clash with Trump.
In his post, Musk criticized what he described as a broken system, stating, “When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy.”
Despite the announcement, it remains unclear whether the America Party has been formally registered with US election authorities. Musk, who was born outside the United States and is constitutionally barred from running for president, did not name a potential leader or reveal immediate plans for political mobilization.
