Former Member of Parliament for Subin Constituency and former Deputy Minister for Works and Housing, Eugene Antwi Boakye, has called for the public disclosure of the recommendations in the Prof. Mike Oquaye Committee’s report on the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) defeat in the 2024 elections.

According to Boakye Antwi, while the full report remains confidential, its recommendations should be made public to guide the party’s reforms and ensure transparency in addressing internal challenges.

“Some of us do not need the report to understand what happened because we knew what was going on—we were frontliners,” he stated.

Speaking exclusively on Happy FM’s EPA Ho Daben, Boakye Antwi argued that, as the party continues its healing process, open discussions about its future should take precedence.

He noted that decisions made at the NPP’s national conference in July will shape the way forward, emphasizing the importance of accountability and consistency in the party’s leadership.

He also raised concern about disciplinary actions within the party, questioning whether selective reprimands hinder effective resolution of issues.

“There was an establishment of a constitutional amendment, but people felt the recommendations should have been made public to guide the party’s reforms,” he added.

The Prof. Oquaye report, which was summarized by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia during the NPP’s Thank You Tour on May 3, remains largely internal, with party leadership maintaining that its contents are not for public consumption.
