The Director of Research and Elections for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Evans Nimako, has emphasized the party’s unwavering commitment to ensuring peaceful and well-organized elections.

He outlined several key measures and assurances given by the party and its presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as Ghana approaches a crucial electoral period.

Speaking during a meeting with the National Election Security Taskforce and heads of political parties ahead of the December 7 elections, Mr. Nimako noted that Dr. Bawumia stands firmly for peace and justice, with the aim of guiding Ghana through another peaceful election. He expressed the party’s readiness to work with the National Election Security Task Force to ensure security and fairness.

He assured the Task Force of their commitment to respecting electoral laws, with all party members, from the national executives to polling station representatives, aligned with this principle.

He also expressed concern about misinformation and disinformation, urging political actors to prioritize truth and fairness to uphold the integrity of the process.

Evans Nimako commended the security agencies, media, and Electoral Commission (EC) officials for their efforts during the successful special voting exercise on December 2, 2024. He called on the EC to replicate the effective mechanisms used during the special voting exercise on December 7th, particularly in the Eastern and Western Regions.

He also urged all members to adhere to all electoral laws and conduct themselves responsibly to ensure a smooth process.
