EXCLUSIVE: Angry Asante Kotoko supporters halt training session, demand coaching change

According to exclusive reports Reach Happy Sports, Asante Kotoko’s head coach, Prosper Nartey Ogum, was prevented from accessing the club’s training grounds by a group of disgruntled supporters. This development was corroborated by Christopher Demenya, the chairman of the club’s National Circles Council (NCC).

A tense standoff occurred at the Adako Jachie training facility, as frustrated fans staged a protest, barring the coach and his team from commencing their training session. The fans’ grievances stemmed from the team’s poor performance in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season, where they have suffered seven defeats in their last nine games, managing just one point from their previous seven matches.

The supporters, gathered at the training grounds, expressed their dissatisfaction with the team’s position in the league, currently sitting in 11th place, their lowest standing in the top-flight. They called for a change in the coaching staff, holding Dr. Ogum and his team responsible for the string of poor results.

Nana Appiah Apinkra, the head of the Interim Management Committee (IMC), attempted to appease the agitated fans; however, his efforts were in vain as the supporters remained steadfast in their demand for a coaching overhaul. The confrontation escalated, and the players were left in a state of limbo, further exacerbating the club’s uncertain future.

As the situation continues to unfold, Asante Kotoko is yet to release an official statement, leaving fans and stakeholders in eager anticipation of further updates.
