FA GALA in danger As GHALCA raises red flag over transparency

Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association, Kudjo Fianoo has indicated that the pre-season GALA which is organised by the FA to precede the league season, might not come off since the clubs are dissatisfied with the lack of transparency in the sponsorship money for the tournament.
According to the maverick football administrator, details of the contract the Ghana Football Association signed with StarTimes are shrouded in secrecy especially when the $100,000 allotted for the GALA was reduced to $40,000.
He intimates on Happy FM that the club owners mandated him to get them a copy of the contract the FA signed with StarTimes but the former has refused to grant him and his GHALCA management team that request.
“I’m not sure we will honour the GFA GALA until our financial obligations are met. We are aware that the StarTimes deal allocated $100,000 for the GALA so I’m surprised that the FA decided to give every club $2,500 which sums up to $40,000 so where is the remaining $40,000 supposing that the agency took its 20%? The club owners asked us to talk to the FA to find details of the contract signed between the FA and StarTimes but we have still not received it.” Kudjo Fianoo told Happy FM.
