The scope of fashion for women has become broader than it was in previous years. No longer are plus size women looked down upon and called fashionably unacceptable. Being plus size called upon body shaming, but now even women with a curvy figure can feature on a magazine cover just like any other woman. Respect your body and learn these fashion styling tricks that will make you look shapelier and attractive.

1.    Swear by black-

Black should become your favourite colour if you want to look slim. Black has been known to give a slimming illusion since times immemorial. Wear a black dress or layer your tops with a black jacket to get that slimming effect while looking mesmerizingly hot in that ravishing shade.

2.    Invest in Shapewear-

Another excellent fashion trick for plus-sized women is to invest in a right shapewear that makes the body appear shapely. It pulls in your body fat to give you a flatter belly. It gives your confidence a raise to wear outfits that you shied away from previously because of your belly fat.

3.    Choose deep necklines-

To take the attention away from your belly section you can choose deep V or U-shaped necklines that also make you look a lot slimmer.

4.    Choose empire line waist for dresses-

When you choose dresses for yourself, make sure it has an empire line waist. No matter the dress is long or short, empire line waist always creates the illusion of a slimmer waistline. It makes your mid portion appear narrower and hides your flaws.

5.    Wear any statement jewellery-

If you feel your outfit is not doing much to hide your bodily flaws, you can always play the trick of camouflaging them by taking the attention away from the body. Wear a chunky neckpiece or a statement earring to make people focus on the statement jewellery rather than your flaws. It will also give you some added style to flaunt.

6.    Go for three-quarter sleeves-

If you have thick arms, it is better not to choose sleeveless outfits as that can make them appear even wider. It is better to pick three-quartered sleeves that hide the flaws and give you a slimmer appearance.

7.    Choose plain blouses-

Women with a bigger bust appear even bustier when they go for embellished tops and blouses because it fixes the attention there and also makes a heavier illusion. Instead, if you choose a plain blouse or top and team it up with an embellished skirt, it will turn the table upside down and make you look attractive.

8.    Layer up loose and long jackets-

Layer your clothing with long jackets to get that desired slim look. Jackets hide the body fat and the long ones especially hide the belly and hip fats making you look shapely. Dark coloured jackets are the best in this case.

9.    Choose loose tops-

You do not need to wear a sack around yourself to hide your flabs. Wearing loose tops doesn’t mean wearing baggy or oversized clothes all the time. It means that you should choose fitted but loose tops and outfits rather than body hugging ones that accentuate your fats even more. Loosely fitted ones instead give you a great option to camouflage all the flaws in a simple way.

10.    Go for more pencil skirts-

Pencil skirts are designed to give you an hourglass figure. These are the best ones to go for if you love body-hugging clothes and yet can’t have them because of your figure. Pencil skirts are quite the opposite of other body-hugging outfits and give you that scintillating shape you always longed for. Buy more of them in different colours so that you can wear them more often with loose fitted tops. Use the City Chic coupon code for some fantastic shopping at low prices.

11.    Choose smaller prints-

Do not choose large floral prints or polka dots no matter how much you like them. Choosing small flowers or small dots and patterns instead will make you appear petite.

12.    Do away with horizontal stripes-

Plus sized women can wear stripes but not the horizontal ones. Choose diagonal or vertical stripes because they make the flabby mid portions look slimmer than usual.

13.    Pear-shaped women should choose fitted bottoms-

Women with a pear shape that is a heavier bottom section should choose fitted bottom wear instead of baggy ones because they make the hips and thighs appear even bigger than they are.

14.    Choose high waist jeans –

Women with belly fat get a boost from wearing high waist jeans because they tuck in some of the belly fit. Wearing fitted jeans help you to conceal half of your weight.

15.    Wear fabrics like cotton than polyester or rayon-

Another trick is to try wearing stiffer fabrics like cotton instead of softer fabrics like rayon, polyester or silk which stick to the body and accentuate the flabs.
