FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers: Ghana’s Black Princesses triumph over Guinea Bissau in first-leg clash

In a compelling display of skill and determination, the Ghana U20 Women’s national team, known as the Black Princesses, secured a convincing 3-0 victory against Guinea Bissau on Sunday.

This thrilling encounter marked the first leg of Round 1 in the African qualifiers for the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup. The battle unfolded at the Estadio 24 de Setembro in Bissau, with the Black Princesses asserting their dominance from the outset.

The first half saw Ghana take a narrow lead, courtesy of an injury-time equalizer by Success Ameyaa. After halftime, the Black Princesses continued to control the game, adding two more goals to their tally.

Goals from Mary Amponsah and Mercy Atobra sealed a resounding 3-0 triumph for Ghana after a gripping 90 minutes of play. The Black Princesses will now return to Ghana, preparing for the eagerly anticipated reverse fixture.
