The Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, is set to present the 2026 Budget Statement and Economic Policy to Parliament today, Thursday, November 13, 2025.
The presentation, scheduled for 2:00 p.m., is in line with Article 179 of the 1992 Constitution, which requires the government to submit its financial and economic plans for the coming fiscal year to Parliament.
This year’s budget is expected to highlight the government’s fiscal strategy, policy priorities, and key interventions aimed at stimulating economic growth and maintaining stability in 2026.
Ahead of the presentation, Dr. Forson visited traders at the Takoradi Market Circle as part of his ongoing stakeholder consultations. He described his interaction with the market women as “humbling and inspiring,” noting that their insights would help shape policies that reflect the needs of ordinary Ghanaians.
Meanwhile, Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga has disclosed that the Business Committee has noted a backlog of referrals before various parliamentary committees. According to him, about 300 referrals have been assigned to 23 committees for consideration and reporting. He urged the committees to expedite work on these pending matters as the House gears up for the budget presentation and subsequent debates.
