The Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine, has unveiled fresh evidence of large scale financial misconduct involving the former Chief Executive Officer of the National Food and Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO), Abdul Wahab Hanan Aludiba.
Speaking during the Government Accountability Series an initiative by the Presidential Communications Directorate to update the public on anti-corruption efforts Dr. Ayine disclosed that investigators have uncovered a sophisticated money laundering scheme involving suspicious transfers exceeding GHS 40.5 million.
According to him, the funds were funneled through Sawtina Enterprise, a company allegedly linked to the former CEO, and were subsequently distributed to multiple individuals and entities under questionable circumstances. The pattern of transactions, he said, points to a deliberate attempt to conceal the origin and flow of illicit funds.
Dr. Ayine described the revelations as a clear example of financial impropriety and abuse of office, emphasizing that the government remains committed to recovering misappropriated public funds and ensuring accountability.
He added that further details of the ongoing investigation will be made public as the case proceeds through the necessary legal processes.
