Former Member of Parliament for Okere, Hon. Daniel Botwe, has been honoured with the 2025 Award of the Order of the Star of Okere in recognition of his outstanding leadership and contributions to the social and physical development of the Okere area.

The award was formally presented to him at a traditional ceremony presided over by Ahuanuabɔbrim Osuodumgya Otutu Ababio V, the Akuapem Nifahene and Adɔkromhene, on January 10, 2026.

Former Okere MP Hon. Daniel Botwe honoured with prestigious Community Leadership Award

The citation accompanying the honour praised Hon. Botwe for his “exemplary and unmatched leadership” during his tenure as Member of Parliament, noting his significant role in advancing development initiatives across the constituency.

Hon. Botwe played a key role in the creation of the historic six additional regions in Ghana, a national milestone that reshaped the country’s administrative structure and the establishment of the Okere District Assembly. These efforts were highlighted as having strengthened local governance and accelerated development in the area.

The entire community acknowledged his contributions to uplifting the image and profile of Okere both locally and nationally, describing his leadership as instrumental in positioning the area for long-term growth and recognition.

The Order of the Star of Okere the highest traditional honour conferred by the Okere Traditional Area and is reserved for individuals who have demonstrated exceptional service, leadership, and commitment to the progress of the people.

The honour places Hon. Daniel Botwe among a select group of leaders whose impact has been formally recognised by the traditional authorities and the people of Okere.
