Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, a prominent figure within the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has declared his retirement from domestic politics.

The legal practitioner made this announcement during an interview with Asaase Radio, citing dissatisfaction with the party’s communication strategy as the primary reason for his decision.

During the interview, Otchere-Darko expressed frustration with what he deemed to be the NPP’s ineffective communication of its recent accomplishments.

Despite acknowledging the substantial progress made by the Akufo-Addo-led government in navigating the challenging economic landscape between 2021 and 2022, he voiced his disappointment with the party’s failure to recognize and highlight these achievements.

Mr. Otchere-Darko highlighted the successful implementation of various policies by the government, which he claimed prevented Ghanaians from enduring long queues for essential products and services, even in the face of severe economic challenges.

He emphasized that the administration had successfully steered the country through the difficulties of 2022, addressing crises across various sectors.

“I have retired from domestic politics,” Otchere-Darko declared, stressing his frustration with the prevailing narratives and expressing a major disappointment with the NPP’s failure to acknowledge the government’s accomplishments adequately.

The legal practitioner pointed out the significance of the challenges faced in 2022 and stressed that the lack of acknowledgment for the government’s work was a major disappointment.
