The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has commenced investigations into the alleged inappropriate conduct of some of its personnel following a confrontation with journalists at Spintex in Accra on Wednesday, July 30.

In a press statement issued by the Department of Public Relations at the GAF General Headquarters, the Armed Forces stated that the move follows a directive from the Presidency. The military high command is looking into the reported misconduct to determine the facts and take necessary action.

“The Ghana Armed Forces wishes to inform the general public that investigations have begun into the inappropriate conduct of some soldiers during an encounter with some journalists around Spintex in Accra, 30th July 2025,” the statement read.

The Acting Director General of Public Relations, Captain VA Arhin of the Ghana Navy, assured the public that the investigations will be thorough and those found culpable will face appropriate disciplinary measures.

“The Armed Forces remains professional and will do everything possible to maintain its known high standards,” the statement emphasized.
