The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that all basic schools across the country will observe a mid-term break from Friday, October 31, to Monday, November 3, 2025.

In a statement signed by the GES Public Relations Officer, Daniel Fenyi, the Service indicated that there will be no academic activities for both teachers and pupils during the period, as the break has already been captured in the 2025 academic calendar.

“This will be the first time basic schools are observing a mid-term break on Friday, October 31, and Monday, November 3, in line with the approved academic calendar,” the statement read.

GES explained that the short recess is aimed at giving teachers and pupils an opportunity to rest and rejuvenate for the remainder of the term.
