Abdul Salam Yakubu, the President of New Edubiase FC, has voiced his concern regarding the upcoming Ghana Football Association (GFA) election.

With less than two months to the scheduled election in October, Yakubu expressed dismay over the absence of a roadmap, which poses difficulties for potential candidates aiming to challenge the incumbent.

“This isn’t rocket science. Everyone knows that the Ghana Football Association’s election will be held in October,” Yakubu stated in an interview on Happy FM’s Wamputu Sports show, emphasizing the urgency of the matter.

He further highlighted the problem of the missing roadmap, stating, “It is very problematic knowing that, with less than two months to the election, the roadmap for the upcoming elections isn’t out yet for candidates who want to contest the incumbent to ready themselves. This is quite unfortunate.”

Amidst the uncertainty surrounding the election preparations, President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, declared his intention to seek re-election during the 29th GFA Ordinary Congress.

The announcement received an enthusiastic response from the audience, including a standing ovation and chants of “Long Live Kurt.”

The upcoming election is expected to witness high level competition as new executives, including the crucial position of the presidency, will be elected.

With the absence of a clear roadmap, candidates and football enthusiasts alike are eagerly waiting the GFA’s release of necessary guidelines and procedures to ensure a smooth and transparent electoral process.
