Ghana Fencing Association led by its president, Mr. Mohammed Mahadi earlier today paid a courtesy call on the Italian Ambassador to Ghana Daniella d’Orlandi at her residence
The purpose of the visit is to discuss women’s empowerment through Fencing in sports and also to increase the number of female fencers in Ghana.
Ghana fencing association and Italian Ambassador is to organize women fencing championship in March to identify talents which would be selected 2023 Africa Games and other competition
Speaking to the media after the meeting the president disclose this vision to the media
“Our program of the year is to empower female fencers because since the beginning of Ghana fencing men are only participating in most of our international tournaments so we decided to add it to our calendar of the year to empower the female fencers.
We identify women who believe in our policy and can help to bring this policy to reality so the Italian Ambassador to Ghana is one of our personalities we selected and put it before her so that’s why we came here today to officially deliberate on it”.
The Ambassador welcomed them and accepted the tournament and asked them to send their data so that they can meet again to discuss how to go by it to make it very successful to achieve their goal.
