President John Dramani Mahama has accused the erstwhile Akuffo- Addo government of mishandling the economy.

According to President Mahama, the economy has been criminally handled, describing Ghana as a Crime Scene.

“We all knew that the economy was in crisis but some of the things am discovering myself is being a criminal handling of our economy and that Ghana is a crime scene actually”.

He quizzed, “ “How can a government be so reckless? I cannot understand?”.

Speaking during the National Tripartite Committee meeting at the ministry of Labour, Jobs and Employment, President Mahama pledged that government would do it bid to ensure the economy bounces back.

He assured the committee that, if it means cutting down governmental expenditure for the economy to come back to life, his government is willing to.

“Our options are very few. We can behave like the ostrich and hide our heads in the sun and let the economy crash, but then what effect would it have on Ghanaian households and everybody. Cut the expenditure as much as you like even ourselves in office of government machinery cut as much of our expenditure as you like, because we all must make those sacrifices”.
