The Ghana Police Service, has appointed senior officers in each of Ghana’s 16 regions to serve as Regional Sports Security Officers.
These officers will be responsible for overseeing match day security operations for all Ghana Football Association (GFA) sanctioned competitions.
All 16 officers recently attended a zonal workshop on safety and security protocols held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
The Ghana Police Service and the GFA stated that this initiative is part of a joint effort to enhance safety and security at match venues nationwide.
