The Ghana Police Service has assured the public of its readiness to provide full security during the Akwatia by-election scheduled for Tuesday, September 2.
Ahead of the polls, personnel of the service staged what they described as a “Community Assurance Patrol” through the streets of Akwatia and Boadua to demonstrate their preparedness to maintain peace before, during, and after the election.
Addressing the media after the exercise, the Director of Public Affairs of the Ghana Police Service, ACP Grace Ansah Akrofi, stressed that the police are committed to ensuring a peaceful electoral process in the constituency.
She urged residents not to be alarmed by the heavy security presence, explaining that the deployment is strictly for the safety of the public.
ACP Ansah Akrofi cautioned individuals with intentions of causing trouble to desist, warning that the police will not hesitate to deal firmly with offenders. She further encouraged voters to turn out on election day, assuring them of full protection.
