The Ghana Youth Arise for Peace has condemned all parties involved in the violent incident in the Awutu Senya East District office of the electoral commission that lead to the stabbing of Ato Koomson.

According to the group, the incident is an unfortunate one and a disappointment to them as Ghana Youth Arise for Peace. The group has earlier in collaboration with coalition of concerned Residents Association of Kasoa embarked on peace walk dubbed “Kasoa Walk for Peace”.

Barely less than 24 hours after the walk, which was actively participated by both NPP and NDC the incident occurred.

In a press statement dated 3rd June 2024, the group is reminding the two main political parties of their promises to ensure peace before, during and after this year’s general elections.

Notwithstanding, Ghana Youth Arise for Peace is urging the Ghana Police service to conduct proper investigation without any partiality into the matter to ensure the culprits face the full rigorous of law. The group also urged all parties to remain calm.
