Operatives of the Strategic Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, have arrested a Ghanaian-British national, Parker Darren Hazekia Osei, for attempting to smuggle illicit drugs into Nigeria.

The 20-year-old, who claims to be a Computer Science student at the University of East London, was apprehended on April 3, 2025, with 36 parcels of Loud a potent strain of cannabis weighing 19.40kg, concealed in a large travel bag.

Osei was arrested during the inward clearance of passengers from an Ethiopian Airlines flight that arrived from Bangkok, Thailand, at the E-arrival hall of the Lagos airport.

In his statement, the suspect said he resides with his parents in the UK but had travelled to Bangkok about a week earlier, where he picked up the drug consignment for delivery to Nigeria.
