Former Black Stars captain, Abedi Ayew Pele, has been appointed to a newly inaugurated Ministerial Advisory Board to support Ghana’s sports policy direction and nationwide development agenda.
The nine-member board was officially unveiled on Tuesday by the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams. The team brings together senior government officials, private-sector experts and civil society representatives to drive strategic change across the sports sector.

Amb. Alexander Grant Ntrakwa – Head of Delivery, Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Ms. Amerley Nuno-Amarteifio – Director of Legal, Ministry of Finance
Mr. Cleanse Tsonam Akpeloo – CEO, Suku Technologies / AGI Representative

Minister Kofi Adams stressed that the board will not be ceremonial but a task-driven working group focused on youth development, governance, accountability, and inclusive sports growth nationwide.
He also announced that the long-awaited Sports Development Fund is almost complete and will soon be presented to Parliament to secure sustainable financing for infrastructure and grassroots programmes.
The Minister expressed strong confidence in the calibre of the board members,urging them to provide bold ideas and practical solutions that will help Ghana emerge as a continental leader in sports and recreation.
