Renowned Ghanaian highlife musician, Charles Kojo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, has died. The iconic artist passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, after a short illness, his family has confirmed.
In a statement signed by Fati Ali Yallah, Esq., Counsel for the Fosu Family at Baba Jamal & Associates, the family expressed their deep sorrow over the loss and described Daddy Lumba as more than a musician a cultural icon whose music deeply impacted generations.
“His soulful voice provided the soundtrack to our love stories, and his poignant lyrics captured the poetry of our struggles, dreams, and resilience,” the statement read.
The family has appealed for privacy during this period of grief, asking Ghanaians to respect their space as they come to terms with the loss.
Details of funeral arrangements, according to the statement, will be announced in the coming days.
